“Frank Songs, My Way” a Collection of Reinvented Covers of Classic Frank Sinatra Songs, Is Released as Chicago Crooner Frank Lamphere Could Have a Big Hit on His Hands

Touted as the album the industry had been practically begging for (for 25 years), demand for the swinging crooner’s latest album demonstrate the public’s appetite for well-produced, quality performances of great vintage “Frank Songs.”

CHICAGO, March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Traditional pop singer Frank Lamphere (LAM-fear) has released a fifteen song, three years in the making Frank Sinatra tribute album “Frank Songs, My Way.” Not a pure jazz album, nor the too common Frank Sinatra “copycat” record, but Lamphere’s brand that he calls Rat Pack Jazz (a musical “bridge” connecting pop & jazz). Recorded at the well-respected Crystall Recorders Studio, the album opens with a very swinging take on My Way. Few songs capture the indomitable American spirit (one that faces adversity head-on and prevails) like “My Way.” Lamphere’s finger-snapping version not only captures that spirit but with its updated arrangement is listenable anytime. Indispensables such as: Fly Me to the Moon, Strangers in the Night and I’ve Got You Under My Skin found a place on the album as did: More, Call Me Irresponsible, Just in Time and others. All feature arrangements different from the well-known Sinatra versions. Chicago Jazz Magazine writes “This could be one of the best Frank Sinatra tribute albums ever.

Lamphere is aware of the great musical legacy that precedes him. Cadence Magazine wrote, “The real foe is our cultural database which finds so many of these songs in the Sinatra file on our memory’s hard drive and raises certain expectations when some other Frankie-come-lately tries to appropriate some of them.” Lamphere strives to offer interesting but distinctive versions of these songs, that both the “casual” listener and those that have always cherished the genre can enjoy. As with his previous studio projects, he utilizes a Who’s Who of Chicago jazz musicians. There is pianist Jeremy Kahn and guitarist Dan McIntyre who’s on tour with Mark Tremonti. Bassist Mark Sonksen (appearing on half the tracks) plays the 100-year-old upright bass, used by Eldee Young on Ramsey Lewis’ 1965 chart-topping “The ‘In’ Crowd.” Chicago sax legend (former Count Basie Band) Eric Schneider has solos on seven tracks. The memorable horns heard on both “That’s Life” and “My Way” were played and written by trumpeter-television celebrity Doug Scharf (Doug Graves on Svengoolie). Stalwart pianists Larry Harris and Bobby Schiff have prominent roles along with star bassist Dennis Carroll and two of the top jazz drummers in the business, George Fludas and Greg Rockingham.

Lamphere is excited for music lovers to hear his new album and emphatically states “Sinatra fans deserve to hear quality!” To attract new fans of his own, he is offering a limited-time, half-price sale on downloads, directly from his website: FrankSinatraTributeCD.com“You’ll love it! A million bucks worth of memories for the price of a couple of coffees at Starbucks. What a value!” Frank smilingly says. The album is also available on iTunes and Spotify.

Referred to as “One of the premier vocalists in the entire country” by Chicago Jazz Magazine “Frank Songs, My Way” is a new high point in a music career that has included four previous studio albums, including the acclaimed 2023 Now THAT’S Amore. He’s headlined jazz & major Italian fests, has performed hundreds of high-profile corporate and private gigs from New York to Las Vegas and even in Milan, Italy. As a songwriter, his original song “I Never Forgot” was featured in the award-winning film Theresa Is a Mother. His gritty, swinging, political song “Thanks To All Of These Liars” was heard across national airwaves just before the 2024 election. Frank has recorded a Dean Martin tribute album (in post-production) that is expected to be out later in the year. A custom deck builder by day, his west suburban Chicago company A-Affordable Decks will celebrate 33 years this Fall. Frank is happily married, has two great children and a strong Christian faith.
